The BVHA Committee is happy
to consider and advise on the development of your own building or refurbishment
plans. This is best done at the conceptual stage, rather than presenting
architectural drawings which will cost a great deal more to alter - owners have
gone away from the meeting having decided to move the front door to the other
end of the practice!
The combined expertise of the
BVHA committee can be used to help avoid pitfalls and will offer guidance to
help ensure that your premises fulfil the RCVS regulations. Whilst BVHA cannot
provide any guarantee, or accept any liability for any advice given, you can be
assured of best efforts to assist your project - from a team that has "been
there, done that" for themselves and have seen many other plans and projects.
There are two options for
plan reviews:
Plans
at Council - £150 (members), £250 (non-members):
You will
attend a BVHA Council meeting (held approx. quarterly). Approximately 20-30
minutes of combined council time will be dedicated to examining the plans and
providing verbal comments and suggestions. Often you will have the opportunity
to continue the discussion informally over lunch.
Plans
by Post - £450 (members), £550 (non-members)
4 copies
of your plans are submitted by post to the BVHA Office. They will be distributed
to 4 members of council. Each of the council members will provide a written
report which will be returned to the practice.
