BVHA Council generally meets twice a year to discuss matters of
interest to the Association. Council plans the various BVHA meetings and
activities and also collates views for presentation to BVA council on other
matters. Council is also intimately involved in the creation and revision of
the Hospital standards. Council also helps to develop and approve various
marketing items to assist member Hospitals in the promotion of their services.
The Council meetings also provide opportunities for "Plan Reviews" where
projected veterinary developments (not necessarily of Hospital standard) are
discussed and advice given.
If you would be interested in helping with the organisation of
the BVHA and serving on Council, please contact the
Secretariat,
or
President.

mixed practice, and also developed referral work for local practices. The
practice has now been "rationalised" and I am now co-director of a 6-vet Small
Animal Hospital and Partner in a multi-discipline Referral Practice. Email

Janet Martin
BVMS MRCVS Hospital Member (Top of page) Qualified from Glasgow in 1988.
Married to an RAF pilot so I spent the first ten years of my career working in
practices around the South East of England, Northern Ireland and Northern
Germany. After settling in the Midlands 10 years ago I became Clinical Director
for CVS UK, first of a practice in Cannock and then of a nine-vet practice in
Telford. Both of these practices grew under my direction. Clinically I have a
keen interest in all things surgical. Over the past 4four years I have also
taken on an increasing burden of Regional Management as the company has grown
and I finally gave up my practice interests to concentrate on my role as
Director of Clinical Services, North. This involves responsibility for 35
practices of which 4four are currently Hospitals. I have two teenage children
so my leisure interests include hiking, mountain biking, skiing and taxi
driving. Elected to Council in October 2009.
