Every two years the
BVHA in conjunction with Veterinary Practice Magazine has been organizing the
Practice Design Awards. These have proved to be very popular and successful
over the years with many excellent and innovative entrants. Any practice that
has started and completed a project between June 1, 2015 and June 1,
2017 is eligible to enter the competition.

The
categories for the 2017 Design Award Competition are as follows
A. New
Build premises
B. Conversion of
buildings previously used for other purposes
C. Refurbishment of
existing practice premises.
In
addition there will be the BVHA President’s Award for an outstanding innovation
in the design of a specific area or
feature of the practice in any of the above categories.
To
enter the competition you will need to submit the following information
1. Your
practice name, address, phone number, email address along with name of the
person submitting the entry.
2. The
number of staff employed and their roles in the practice, i.e. veterinary
surgeon.
3. In
what area of veterinary practice is you involved, i.e. equine, small animal,
referral.
4. A
report of 500 words or less about your project emphasising its outstanding
design and innovative features. Do describe any clever solutions to problems,
why the changes were made in a particular way and an assessment of whether your
project has lived up to your expectations.
5. No
more than 12 photographs showing both the practice both before and after the
project.
6. A
full size floor plan of the premises, preferably the architect's drawings.
7. An
indication of the total cost of the project.
